Hurricane Delta Coming Ashore Tonight in Louisiana, 10 ft. or More Storm Surge, Sustained Winds 100 to 120 mph, 10 to 15 inches of Rain Possible...

Hurricane Delta will be the fourth tropical storm to impact Louisiana this season.  At 8 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020, the center storm is presently located approximately 160 miles south of Cameron, LA, movement is north at 12 mph, sustained winds 120 mph and the central pressure is 28.29 inches. The is currently a Category 3 on the Saffir-Simpson scale.  Heavy rains with 10 to 15 inches possible near the storm track, tornadoes and wind gusts over 120 mph are expected.  The storm will rapidly weaken after it makes landfall this evening.  Rain from the storm is expected to move into the Tennessee River Valley this weekend with rain moving into the Northeast and the New York City metro area Sunday night and Monday.
