Post-Tropical Nicholas will Generate Showers and Thunderstorms from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle Through Friday...

The remnants of Hurricane Nicholas is foreacst to prodcue heavy downpours and flooding over parts of the Gulf Coast through Friday. An additional 2 to 4 inches of rain is forecast along from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. At 4:00 a.m. CDT, the center of post-tropical storm Nicholas was located about 60 miles south-southeast of Lafayette, LA. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to 25 mph. The storm is nearly stationary with a forward movement of 2 mph. Flash Flood Watches are in effect along the coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle. A tropical distrurbance off the Mid-Atlantic coast will strengthen but will remain off the coast and pass out to sea over the next few days.
