A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect tonight for NYC, LI, southern New York state central and coastal NJ and southern CT. One-quarter of an inch of ice expected in and around the city with one-half inch ice accumulation north and west where an Ice Storm Warning is in effect. Most of the area will change to rain by Wednesday afternoon. Over a foot of snow is expected in upstate New York and northern New England which had been missing out on a lot of snow this year. Blizzard conditions continue in the Midwest with 2 feet expected in Chicago with winds gusting to 60 mph. Another storm may produce some light snow as it moves up the coast on Friday night and Saturday here in the NYC metro area.
