Severe Thunderstorm this Evening in Western Monmouth Couty, NJ

Severe thunderstorms are now pounding parts of western Monmouth County in NJ. Doppler radar indicates a severe thunderstorm with hail at 10:07 p.m. about 19 miles north of Toms River. The storm is capable of producing 60 mph winds and quarter size hail. See full advisory below.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM EDT FOR CENTRAL MONMOUTH AND SOUTHERN MIDDLESEX COUNTIES... AT 1007 PM EDT...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS REPORTED CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND DAMAGING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR ADELPHIA...OR 19 MILES NORTH OF TOMS RIVER...MOVING EAST AT 30 MPH. THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR...  FARMINGDALE AND COLLINGWOOD PARK BY 1020 PM EDT... The air is very humid and thunderstorms have been scattered and occasionally severe the last few days in and around the NYC metro area and the Northeast. Severe weather hit northern NJ and NYC Thursday evening as well.
