The season's first named Atlantic tropical storm is now post-tropical as it moves through eastern Virginia this evening. The storm continues to produce heavy rain and flooding from the Mid-Atlantic to the Northeast. More than 5 inches of rain fell over the last 24 hours in North Carolina. Several tornadoes were also produced 11 reports of tornadoes in Florida and North Carolina. The storm will produce 2 to 5 inches of rain in New England through Saturday morning but the sun will be Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
