Heavy Rains Tonight in New York City and the Northeast, Sunshine on Sunday
A slowing moving cold front has been producing heavy downpours this evening in the New York City metro area. The front will move east late tonight with plenty of sunshine on Sunday. It will be sunny all next week with seasonable temperatures. High in the city will be around 70 with lows in the 50s.

Typhoon Usagi Pounding the Philippines and Taiwan Tonight....Hong Kong on Sunday Evening
Super Typhoon Usagi with sustained winds of 139 mph struck Luzon on the Philippine and Taiwan tonight. It is expected to weaken to a Category 3 storm before hitting Hong Kong Sunday night.

China’s National Meteorological Center issued a red alert — the highest-level warning — with the storm, called Super Typhoon Usagi, on a path to hit Guangdong Province, the industrial powerhouse at the heart of the Pearl River Delta. Coastal Zhejiang and Fujian Provinces were also covered by the alert. The storm, with a width of nearly 700 miles and carrying sustained winds of 139 miles per hour, battered the northern Philippine island of Luzon on one side while striking Taiwan on the other, moving between the two on a path straight toward Hong Kong at the foot of the delta. It was expected to make landfall in the financial hub on Sunday night, although forecasters said it could veer from that course.

Heavy Flooding Continues in Colorado, Hurricane Ingrid to Impact Mexico, Cool in the Northeast
Historic flooding continues in Colorado this evening. More than 9 inches of rain fell on September 12, 2013 in Boulder. More than a foot of rain has fallen from September 11-13, 2013 to the west and northwest of Boulder. A total of 14.62 inches had fallen in Boulder through midday on September 13, 2013. A raw video of the flooding is available here. Hurricane Ingrid, the second hurricane of the 2013 season is forecast to move into Mexico producing up to 15 to 25 inches of rain. This storm is also expected to produce some much needed rain in southern Texas. The Northeast will be very cool tonight with lows in the 30s and 40s over northern New England and upstate New York to around 50 in New York City. This is the first day where jackets and coats were worn by residents of New York this season.
