Winter Storm Warnings for Long Island and Southern NJ Today, Blizzard Warnings for Southeast Massachusetts Tonight and Sunday...

Central Park received 1.2 inches early yesterday morning and now as much as 5 inches of snow is expected to fall today.  This is the second snowfall in 24 hours in New York City. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for up to 11 inches of snow for Long Island and southern New Jersey.  Blizzard Warnings for 12 to 18 inches of snow are posted for southeast Massachusetts include Cape Cod and Nantucket tonight and Sunday.  Radar shows a large area of snow falling from Virginia to Boston.  The Mississippi River Valley and interior portions of the Southeast saw snow and ice from this storm yesterday and this morning. The snow ended in Atlanta, the temperature will only be in the 20s there today, a low of 15 is forecast tonight.  It will be cold and dry Sunday and Monday across the Northeast but there will be a moderation trend that will boost temperatures above normal by Wednesday and Thursday.
