More Heavy Rain for the Northeast as Well as the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic States...

The rains from Tropical Storm Lee that dumped very heavy rainfall across Louisina this past weekend will combine with moisture from a cold front advancing eastward. Heavy rain will begin early Tuesday morning and then taper off to showers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday. Areas that continued to flood this past week due to Irene in upstate NY and northern NJ will see 2 to 5 inches of rain from this storm system. The weather looks dry and cooler Friday through early next week. Hurricane Katia now a Category 3 storm with 135 mph will move northeast close to the Northeast but then it is forecast to be sharply kicked out to sea to the northast away from land. It might cause rough surf this weekend at local beaches.
