It Feels Like Autumn Today in New York and Coastal Sections of the Northeast

The temperature at 11 AM is 55 in Central Park, 55 in Newark, NJ, 51 in Boston and 49 in Worcester, MA. A northeast flow combined with rain has kept temperatures in the 50s this morning near the coast. The ocean temperature is 61-63 in the New York-Long Island area. The unusually cool start to June is being caused by a closed, slow moving cut-off low that is circulating across the Northeast. It will drift off the coast by Wednesday but a northerly flow with rotating moisture will persist.
