Strong low pressure is pushing a powerful cold front across the Great Lakes and the Northeast tonight with snow falling now across upstate New York and northern New England. It is snowing now in the Poconos of Pennsylvania, northwest New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley. Freeze Warnings and Frost Advisories are in effect from New Jersey to Oklahoma as freezing temperatures plunge into the Deep South and to the Mid-Atlantic through Wednesday morning. Plants will be affected if they are not brought indoors or covered. Rain changing to wet snow is forecast for the New York City metro area tonight with no accumulation expected. Snow is now mixing in with the rain in Midtown Manhattan at 10:30 p.m. The temperature is 39 degrees, it's 39 in Newark with sleet falling there. Another storm tomorrow and Wednesday will dump 6 to 10 inches of snow across portions of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
