Flash Flood Watches and Warnings are in effect through tonight for the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic. More than 2 inches of rain will produce flooding in low-lying areas and near streams and rivers. A slow moving frontal system continues to produce a line of heavy rain moving northward and eastward. The system moves off the coast Saturday with dry weather returning. The long-range forecasts indicate that dry weather is expected for most of the Memorial Day weekend with a chance of a shower or two Sunday or Monday.
