Hurricane Matthew Producing Major Flooding in the Carolinas Today and Sunday...75 mph Winds

The center of Hurricane Matthew is located approximately 50 miles to the south of Savannah, Georgia. The storm has produced more than 6 inches of rain, wind gusts over 70 mph and severe coastal flooding. Storm surges of 5 to 7 ft. can be expected near Charleston, SC.  The National Hurricane Center stated the following:
There is a danger of life-threatening inundation during the next 36 hours along the coast from Altamaha Sound, Georgia, to Bogue Inlet, North Carolina as well as from Cape Lookout to Salvo, North Carolina including portions of the Pamlico Sound.  There is the possibility of life-threatening inundation during the next 48 hours from Bogue Inlet to Cape Lookout, North Carolina and from Salvo to Duck, North Carolina including portions of the Albemarle Sound.
The storm is expected to track near eastern North Carolina tomorrow and then loop out to sea and southward as it weakens into a tropical depression next week.
