Heavy snow continues across the Northeast this afternoon. Over 8 inches of snow has fallen so far over eastern Long Island. The snow has changed to rain across Cape Cod. Heavy snow is falling with temperatures in the 20s. It is 23 degrees in Central Park, 28 in Boston. Blizzard conditions are occurring along the coast. Schools are closed including the NYC schools. The storm will pound Maine and the Canadian maritime tonight. The snow will end in the NYC metro area early this evening. Bitter cold Arctic blast will follow tonight through Sunday.
