A 5.9 Magnitude Earthquake Struck in Virgnia Today and It Was Felt Along the East Coast

The United States Geological Survey said today that the 5.9 magnitude quake is the strongest that can be expected here in the east coast with most quakes 4.5 or less. I was in an office building in Midtown and clearly felt it. Other people I have spoken with felt it even more since they were on the ground. There is also a possibility that the city will see the effects of Hurricane Irene later this week in addition to this very rare and rather strong earthquake.
