An intense upper low and associated surface storm will track into New England tonight. This system was responsible for dozens of tornadoes in the Deep South yesterday with 13 tornadoes reported today. Over 180 wind and hail reports were received by the Storm Prediction Center so far today from southern New Jersey to Florida. A Tornado Watch has been expanded to northern New Jersey with a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for New York City, Southern Connecticut, southern New York and Long Island until 11 pm tonight. A High Wind Advisory is also in effect for the New York metropolitan area. Flash flooding, damaging winds, potential tornadoes are possible this evening and through 2 a.m. tonight. The weather will improve tomorrow with a dry northwest breeze.
