Spring officially arrives at 12:30 AM on Sunday. Last year, the city saw snow on the first day of Spring and it appears that snow will also fall this year. The latest NAM run is now forecasting 0.54" inches of
precipitation. This is much
"wetter" than the previous runs. Not all of this may fall as snow
since the temperature will be above freezing during the afternoon and rain could
mix in. The snow is forecast to begin in the mid or late afternoon with the
steadier snow falling after dark. The snow should end by 9 AM in the
city. A Winter Storm Watch and Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Long Island. Temperatures will be much warmer this week with highs in the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday.
