First Major Winter Storm for New York City, Blizzard for Coastal New England Tonight...

The first major winter storm of the season for the city dumped 9 inches in Central Park. New York City schools were closed today along with several businesses.  The storm produced 12.8 inches in Danbury, CT, 14 inches in North Haven, CT, 13.0 inches in Plainview, LI and 7.7 inches in Newark, NJ.  Boston is experiencing a blizzard now, 18 degrees in heavy snow, a blizzard warning is in effect and 12 to 18 inches are expected. The weather will be sunny and cold tomorrow with a chance of light snow at night, milder weather with rain expected by Sunday.
