Record Warmth Wednesday, Much Colder with Heavy Snow Thursday Morning for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast...5 to 10 Inches Forecast for NYC

Latest model guidance indicates that rain will change to heavy snow overnight into Thursday morning.  Winter Storm Watches and Advisories are in effect for 5 to 10 inches of snow. The snow is expected to begin by daybreak and taper off and end during the early afternoon. The snow will fall heavily at times.  Near record or record highs will occur on Wednesday with a high of 63 forecast for Newark, NJ and 59 in Central Park.  A brief blast of Arctic air will move into the Northeast through Saturday morning with moderating temperatures in the afternoon into early next week.
