Rain and Strong Wind from Earl Remaining Well Offshore

So far through 2 PM the NYC metro area including the Jersey Shore and Long Island have seen only moderate effects from Earl as it has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm. Rough seas, beach erosion, rip currents and some coastal flooding should be the main threats through this evening with the highest winds and waves over eastern Suffolk County of Long Island and later into Cape Cod.
