Cold Air Will Drop Temperatures into the Teens and 20s in the Southeast by Wednesday Morning, Tornado Watches for Georgia and Florida Now...

Very cold air continues to invade the eastern half of the nation with Tornado Watches in effect now for parts of Georgia and northwest Florida. Temperatures tonight will drop to near 34 in Tallahassee with lows down to 20 degrees by Wednesday morning. Highs on Tuesday will not get out of the 50s. In Jacksonville, highs today will warm to near 80 but it will be down to 28 degrees by Wednesday morning. Heavy lake effect snows will also occur across parts of the Great Lakes with up to 20 inches expected in northern Michigan. Up to 6 inches of snow has fallen since yesterday in parts of southern Ohio. Snow is falling across the Ohio Valley, the Great Lakes and northern New England. Radar indicates that it is snowing now in portions of eastern Kentucky. The weather pattern over the next 16 days from the GFS indicates the propensity for storms to develop across the Southern Plains and the Southeast that track up the East Coast. This pattern can produce snow in the Northeast if enough cold air is in place.
