Much Colder Weather on the Way for the US, Major Storm Pounding Alaska this Weekend...

Cold air will begin to pour into the lower 48 states over the next week with the coldest air of the season expected in the Northeast by next Friday. Snow is forecast today over parts of the Northern Plains. Snow is also expected to develop over parts of the Upper Great Lakes today.  A major storm associated with the remnants of Typhoon Nuri is located over the western Bering Sea will produce strong winds across Alaska this weekend. The long range GFS is hinting that there could be some snow in the Northeast over the next 7 to 10 days.
