Snow on Christmas Day?

The latest computer runs of the NAM and GFS indicate the possibility of a coastal storm forming along the Mid-Atlantic states on Christmas Eve and early Christmas Day. The models are indicating that light snow could develop Christmas Day in the afternoon and become steadier at night with the heavier snows falling across Long Island. More on this storm later in the week. A white Christmas is a relatively rare event in New York City. The last time accumulating snow fell on Christmas Day was in 2002.
