Snow is now falling across New York City, southern Connecticut, southeast New York, and in parts of New Jersey and Long Island. A total of 6.8 inches has fallen in Clintonville, CT, 6.5 inches in Wallinford, CT and 5.5 in Ridgefield, CT. Up to 2 inches is expected in the city. The heavy, wet snow will take down power lines and trees. Winds will gust to near 60 mph along the coast tonight with some minor coastal flooding and beach erosion. The storm will move to a position east of Cape Cod by Thursday afternoon. This is the second early season snowstorm in the last two years here in the New York City metro area.
