Major Winter Storm for NYC Metro Area Still on Track...

As of 11 AM, Snow is falling heavily in Philadelphia now and light snow is falling in southern New Jersey at Milllville and Wrightstown. It is overcast everywhere else in the Tri-State area with the sun dimly visible in places.

The NAM model (see 7 AM analysisabove) continues to produce a strong storm that passes just to the south and east of the NYC metro area. I am forecasting 10 inches to the north and west of the city with 15 to 20 inches to the south across Central New Jersey and eastern Long Island. Winds will gust from the northeast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 to 50 mph.
