The latest GFS model runs indicate a very stormy pattern with major storms developing along the West Coast, the Midwest and the Northeast over the next two weeks. A strong storm will develop tomorrow spreading blizzard conditions and severe weather to the Midwest on Monday and Tuesday. A weak storm will spread rain with some snow possible as far north at NYC and NJ on Thursday. A major cold outbreak will occur next weekend according to the model that will send freezing tempertures into northern Florida by the weekend with a chance for another snowstorm for NYC and another major storm for eastern New England next Sunday into Monday. Another major storm is forecast for the following week for the Midwest and the Northeast. After relatively light snowfall in January and December in the Northeast, the Blizzard of 2013 and the pattern the next couple of weeks indicate that snowfall this winter should be near or above average in many locations.
