Late Spring Snowfall for New York City Tonight and Monday...

A storm will pass to our south and east by Monday night.  Wet snow with rain will develop.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the New York City metropolitan area.  Up to 6 to 9 inches of snow is forecast for Indianapolis with up to 16 inches in the mountains of West Virginia. After this storm departs early on Tuesday, the weather looks relatively quiet for much of the week.  The long range GFS indicates a cold start to April with an active storm track.  This could be a year for another relatively rare April snowfall in New York City  The last significant snowfall in New York was 5 inches back in April of 2003.
