The snow that began over the weekend will continue today across central and eastern New England with an additional 4 to 8 inches expected in Boston. Up to 2 feet of snow will fall in parts of Massachusetts. Boston so far this season has received over 60 inches of snow which is well above their 36.2 inch seasonal average. Weak low pressure will continue to move along a frontal boundary that is draped along the East Coast today. Radar shows that most of the snow will fall north of New York City today with only light amounts in and around the city. But the freezing rain will create icy conditions. The precipitation ends this evening and then the coldest air of the season arrives by Thursday with a chance of light snow Thursday night into Friday and again sometime this weekend.
