Two to Four Inches of Snow Likely for New York City, Long Island and Central New Jersey Tuesday Morning, Up to 8 Inches for Southern New Jersey, Washington DC and Delaware...

The storm that produced snow, sleet and freezing rain in the South the last couple of days is spreading northeastward tonight.  Winter Storm Warnings are in effect across Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland and southern New Jersey for up to 6 to 10 inches of snow.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for central New Jersey, New York City and Long Island for 2 to 4 inches of snow.  The storm is a fast mover and will move to the northeast by Tuesday afternoon.  Only light snow is expected from this storm in Boston.  Snow is breaking out across eastern Pennsylvania and  western and southern New Jersey now.  There will be slippery roads for the Tuesday morning rush hour.  The GFS continues the cold weather pattern in the East for the next two weeks with potential winter weather in the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic.
