An upper level trough generated a burst of light snow between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. across the New York City metro area this morning. The sky partially cleared by 11:00 a.m. Snowfall amounts generally ranged from 1 to 2 inches across the region. It will be sunny and cold Saturday with increasing clouds on Sunday. Rain, sleet and snow is expected on Monday into Tuesday.
