Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain and Rain Today and Tonight...Cold and Dry in the Northeast for the Next Few Days...

A cold front will move across the Northeast on Monday as an area of low pressure moves along it.  Winter Weather Advisories and Freezing Rain Advisories are in effect from Missouri to Connecticut.  In the New York City metro area, the precipitation may start briefly as sleet or freezing rain but the precipitation will change quickly to rain.  There is a chance for a brief changeover back to snow or sleet Monday night before the precipitation ends.  Since it will be colder north and west of the City, the precipitation will be an icy mix for a longer period of time which will create slipper driving conditions.  The weather is forecast to be dry for the rest of the week will slowly moderating temperatures this weekend.
