Heaviest Snows Will Miss New Jersey and New York City with the Highest Amounts from Central Long Island to Southeast CT and Coastal New England...

Forecast total snowfall has been decreased in the city and westward across New Jersey as the storm continues to spread a large area of snow across coastal New England and the New York City metro area. The latest model guidance has reduced the amount of snow in and around the city but heavy snowfall is still forecast with up to 2 feet over eastern Long Island, southeast CT, Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts. It is snowing heavily now in Boston, 17 degrees. One to 2 feet of snow is forecast for Boston through Wednesday. So far about 6 inches of snow has fall in Central Park with up to 9 inches across eastern Long Island. Blizzard Warning continues in effect for New York City and along the coast for blowing and drifting snow with gusts to 50 to 60 mph.
