Major Winter Storm for NYC Metro Area Through Friday Afternoon...








Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through Friday at 6 PM for most of the NYC tri-state area with heavy wet snow expected this afternoon and tonight. Lighter snow can be expected on Friday. The storm is now located to the south of Long Island. The rain/snow line is in a northeast to southwest line across western CT and Queens County to southern NJ. It is raining heavily in southeast Maine and over most of the eastern half of New England with snow in upstate NY, NJ and PA. We can expect 3 to 5 inches near the coast and Long Island, up to 6 to 10 inches in the city and up to 18 to 24 inches in the northwest suburbs and ski resorts. The storm will be centered near NYC Friday at 7 AM and there will be light snow falling at that time. The winds will gust to 40 mph at times especially late this afternoon and tonight.
