Snow for Wednesday for Mid-Atlantic States and NYC Metro Area?

The latest computer models are suggesting that there could be another winter storm for Tuesday night and Wednesday. Snow could fall in the same areas that were hardest hit yesterday. The storm that dumped up to 2" of rain in Los Angeles this weekend will begin to race eastward across the plains. Then, a very strong upper-level shortwave will begin to dive into the Midwest from central Canada. The storm from California is currently forecast to spread some snow and rain to the Mid-Atlantic states Tuesday night. The very strong shortwave energy will then track eastward to the coast developing a very strong coastal storm that could produce significant snow or snow with sleet and/or rain along the coast. However, in my opinion, it appears that the storm will form too far off the coast to produce another crippling snowstorm. However, the GFS (see maps above) presently is forecasting at least 8" for the NYC tri-state region. Since this event is about 80 hours away, the forecast can change. But there will be a better picture on Sunday and especially on Monday on how this next storm scenario will unfold.
