The Storm Continues...17 Inches so Far in Central Park






A Winter Storm Warning is in effect through Saturday morning. Radar shows that snow is rotating around the NYC area, up to 20 inches expected in the city and more than 30 inches in upstate NY - 26 inches has already in Tuxedo, NY. So far 16.9 inches in Central Park, NYC has fallen since yesterday morning. Accumulating snow continues in Midtown with light traffic at 9:45 a.m. Large tree branches also broke and fell in Manhattan and Central Park. A total of 47.4 inches so far this season in Central Park, normal about 25 inches. So far . More than 20 inches in northwest NJ and the Catskills. Newark, NJ has received 13.6 inches through 9 AM. The storm is now centered new JFK Airport and is tracking west. The light snow will continue into this evening with 15 to 20 inches in and around the city.
